Progression Collection – 3 Ensembles

The 20th century was a century of progress. Technology progressed in both the fashion industry and in animation. From the development of new fibers, to the first cartoon with sound, the world was moving forward. Walt Disney himself created the Carousel of Progress, so that we would never forget how important innovation and change are. This collection is an examination of the technology that was advanced in animation by Walt Disney Studios, and how fashion was changing at those same periods of time. Weather, it’s the roaring twenties of a new silhouette, rayon fabrics, and the debut of Mickey Mouse, or the last traditional use of ink-and-paper and camera animation, and a range of different fashion trends in the 90s, the world was progressing. This collection is looking at the progression that’s happened and how it has shaped everything from what we watch to what we wear. This collection celebrates the advancement we have made and looks forward to how it can continue to progress. Like Walt Disney said, “We keep moving forward.”

Each look is inspired by a new technology that was used by Walt Disney Studios throughout history. They are also inspired by the decade that the movie came out, through fashion silhouette and the new fibers that were being produced around that time. The collection consists of 5 pieces: dress, pants, bodysuit, shirt, and skirt.
